Race For the Rivers photo grid

NO Ride this year

Back again this year,  Ride for the Rivers offers participants yet another way to celebrate the Race for the Rivers Festival and support clean water education, restoration, and recreation! The 35-mile route begins in Washington, MO and ends in Frontier Park.

Registration

Race-day registration opens at 8 AM on August 24, 2019 in Washington, MO. Upon registration, you will get your official ride sticker. A one-year membership to the Greenway Network will be given to all registrants.

Start Time

The 35-mile ride officially starts when we launch the boats in Washington (at 9:30 AM). You will ride as a group, with escort, from the ramp across the bridge and to the Katy Trail. Once you reach the trail, you will be free to ride at your own pace.

End Time

The end of the 35-mile ride is at Frontier Park in St. Charles, MO. You must check out at the Greenway Network booth upon your return so we can notify SAG support as soon as the trail is clear.

Note: During your ride, if you stop for more than a reasonable rest, SAG will ask you to keep moving. If you choose not to, you can no longer be part of the ride and will no longer be supported. And we will not be able to get you a shuttle ride should you miss the afternoon shuttle back to Washington. Your number will be called in and we will stop looking for you. This is a continuous ride and our SAG support cannot accommodate stops for restaurants or bars along the way.

Minimum Pledge

Race for the Rivers is an annual fundraising event to support The Greenway Network’s river conservation efforts, and so riders are asked for a minimum pledge (in lieu of entry fee) when registering. The minimum pledge is $15 per rider.

After registering, be sure to encourage friends and family to make a pledge for your efforts. Top pledge earners get special recognition!

BIKE Shuttle Service

Bike shuttle service is available from the Bishop’s Landing/Boat House parking lot in St. Charles to Washington with a stop at the Weldon Spring Boat Ramp. The shuttle can carry your bicycle but not your kayak or canoe.

The first run leaves at 7:30 AM.

The afternoon run leaves from the First Capitol Convention and Visitors Bureau parking lot at 3:00 PM.  This lot is directly across S Riverside Dr from the Main Stage in Frontier Park.

Cost is $15 for each.

Space is limited. Seats will be assigned on a first-paid, first-served basis. Reservations are strongly recommended. As of 8-17-2018 there are 7 spaces left for the morning shuttle.  There are 12 spaces open for the afternoon shuttle.    Register here.
